How The Motorsport Community Has Recently Come Together for Charity
During 2024, the motorsport community has come together to raise money for a handful of very worthy causes in an effort to make a difference beyond the white lines of the track. Through three charity auctions, F1 Authentics and partners have helped raise funds for causes close to the hearts of fans, drivers and teams alike. These events were not only a celebration of the influence a community has but also a testament to the power of a collective passion to strive for change.

A Unique Memento for Movember

During the month of November, we delivered an exciting opportunity for fans and collectors alike to support men’s health through the Movember campaign. At the centre of this effort was a truly one-of-a-kind collectible, a Valtteri Bottas Limited Edition Topps trading card. This featured an authentic piece of his race suit, and a piece of Bottas’ notorious hair, a creative twist inspired by a conversation on a podcast.

This exclusive item was auctioned on F1 Authentics auction page and surmounted an incredible £4,000 over the course of its November auction. All the proceeds from the auction went directly to Movember’s work in mental health, suicide prevention and cancer research.

A Generous Contribution from Lando Norris

Earlier in the year, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris took to action with a goal of raising money for a selection of charities close to his heart. Among the items auctioned was Lando’s 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix Qualifying helmet, the very same one he achieved pole position wearing. The helmet’s design paid homage to the iconic porcelain trophies, handed over to the podium sitters of the Grand Prix.

This auction alone raised an amazing £43,001, with funds donated to the Hungarian Federation of Blind and Partially Sighted – a nominated charity from Herend Porcelain Manufactory, who designed the helmet – and the Royal Society for Blind Children. Additionally, a replica Pole Position Wind Tunnel Tyre, signed by Norris, raised a further £4,800 for Race Against Dementia, a charity founded by Formula 1 legend, Sir Jackie Stewart.

Supporting Granting Wishes

Our final auction focused on supporting Make-A-Wish International in their mission to grant children life-changing wishes. This auction offered people the chance to own extremely rare pieces of memorabilia, including eight Ferrari Trento sparkling wine podium bottles signed by the top three drivers of various Grands Prix.

Fans also had the opportunity to bid on signed photographs and an extraordinary experience of a two-seater race car ride at an iconic circuit. This auction will run until late December, with every penny raised going to Make-A-Wish International, who will use the funds to help deliver joy to children and their families at the moment they need it most.

A Thank You to All Involved

These auctions were more than just opportunities for fans to own pieces of motorsport history. This was also an opportunity as a community to come together. The funds raised will go to worthy causes who provide amazing support to helping people in need.

As we look back on these unforgettable auctions, we are reminded of the incredible community that makes moments like this possible. From everyone at Memento Exclusives to everyone who participated in these auctions, thank you.
